Joyce (Waldrop) Cox

Joyce W. Cox was a lifelong resident of Etowah County and graduated from Etowah High School in 1954. She attended the University of Montevallo. Joyce was a member of First Baptist Church of Attalla and active in several community organizations. She was a homemaker and devoted grandmother, loved to travel and garden, was a member of the Woman's Club of Gadsden, and volunteered for the Salvation Army and in numerous ways to serve others.

Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband of more than 60 years, Tommie W. Cox, son Robert Ellis Cox, sister Joann Waldrop Hicks, and parents, Robert L. and Velma Carter Waldrop.

Mrs. Cox is survived by her son, Tommie L. Cox (Cindy), daughter, Teresa Rhea (Bill). Grandchildren Will Cox (Brandi), Laney Rhea Eskridge (Marshall), John Cox (Sarah), and William Rhea, IV. Great grandchildren Kailey, Hunter, and Marley Grace Cox, Margaret and Joseph Eskridge, Savannah and Lilah Cox, and sister, Mary Burson.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.
