

Visitation will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 11:00am until the time of service at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Steele Cemetery.
Judy had a great love and compassion for children and young people. She worked as a substitute teacher and as a teachers’ aid for many years. In addition, she taught numerous Sunday school classes at Steele Methodist Church over the course of several years.
Mrs. Hammond is preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Myrtle Newton; her beloved husband of 46 years, Frank “Bo” Hammond; and her brothers, Val Newton and Amos Newton Jr.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Sandy (Skip) Bell, of Uriah; son, Rusty (Trish) Hammond, of Somerville; grandson, Colton (Victoria) Hammond, of Colorado Springs; granddaughters, Kayla Bell, of Uriah, and Chloe Hammond, of Ashville; and brothers, Kenneth (Nancy) Newton, of Gadsden, Ray (Marsha) Newton, of Wichita, and Reginald Newton, of Gadsden.
Pallbearers are Colton Hammond, Skip Bell, Jason Green, Keith Newton, Philip Gleason, and Mark Ward. Honorary pallbearers are Donald Ray Bush, Robert Beason, and Hoyt Washburn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Embrace (Methodist Children’s Home).
Morgan Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
