
Kathy P. Hill, age 83, of Gadsden, Alabama, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026. Born on December 25, 1942, in Guntersville, Alabama, she was truly a cherished Christmas gift to her parents, Robert and Katrina Austin. Kathy spent most of her life in Gadsden, where she was known and loved for her gentle spirit, generous heart, and devotion to her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Toby Lee Sorrells Sr.; her sister, Brenda Sorrells; and her son, Ronnie Dewayne Sorrells.
Kathy is survived by her son, Toby Lee Sorrells Jr.; her grandchildren, Joseph Sorrells, Anthony Sorrells, and Lori Flemming; and her sister, Peggy Elliott. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Kathy will be remembered for her wonderful cooking, especially her homemade chicken fingers that brought joy to everyone who gathered around her table. She had a kind, gentle, and quiet personality, yet her love and generosity spoke volumes. Kathy was the type of person who would give the last of what she had to help someone in need. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed spending time working crossword puzzles.
Honorary pallbearer will be Charles Johnson.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Attalla Health and Rehab for the care and compassion shown to Kathy during her time there.
