Kennith was born in Gadsden and graduated from Emma Sansom High School in 1970. He grew up following his older brothers in playing football, baseball, and basketball at Elliott Elementary School and General Forrest Junior High. In high school he lettered in all three sports and played on the 1970 State Championship Baseball Team for Emma Sansom. In football he was selected All-NEAC as a senior. After high school he continued to play softball and semi-pro football. One of his fondest memories was playing softball in tournaments on the “Haynie Team” with brothers, cousins, and Uncle Edsell coaching. They were a force to be dealt with as they were all great athletes. He was a supervisor of the Tractor Shop at Gulf State Steel. Kennith had a larger than life personality that touched everyone who knew him and called him friend. Kennith loved to hunt and fish especially with his grandson, Easton and close friend, Neal Sanders.
