Linda Kay Battles

Linda “Kay” Battles, age 75 of Steele, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 13, 2021. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Deerman’s Chapel. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the church. Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory directing.

Kay was a native of Chandler Mtn. She retired from the United States Postal Service and was a member of Deerman’s Chapel. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, shopping and watching cooking videos.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd J. Battles; parents: Thomas H. and Lois Ransey Smith and brother, Thomas H. Smith, Jr.

Her survivors include daughters: Lois (Roger) Ray and Robbin (Billy) Dunn; grandchildren: Nicole (John) Elkins, Brandon (Ashley) Dunn, Jarred Dunn, Mark (Christina) Ray, Billy Dunn and Tiffany (Corey) Klein; sisters: Ila (Tom) Hooper, Janet (Rayburn) Smith and Jackie (Donnie) Williams; a host of great grandchildren and a special nephew, Alan (Shannon) Battles.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Dunn, Billy Dunn, Jarred Dunn, Mark Ray, Alan Battles, Corey Klein, Braden Hudgins, Joshua Cummings and Chris Farmer. Honorary pallbearer is Andrew Ray.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Care Team in SICU at St. Vincents East Hospital.
