Mark Dewayne Steapleton

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Morgan Funeral Chapel, Attalla, AL. The family will receive visitors in the Chapel from 6:00pm until the time of service at 7:30pm. Clergy to officiate is Pastor Mark Williams. Interment will be held at Rainbow Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 11:00am.

Mark grew up in Curtiston and graduated from Etowah High School in 1970. He worked retail with Woolco, Woolworth, and Walmart, then retired from Jay-Midsouth Industries. He loved his children, playing golf and Alabama football. Mark was also a beloved BoomPa.

He is preceded in death by his parents, R.E. and Ruby Steapleton; and sister, Glenda Steapleton.

Mark is survived by his loving children, Dewayne (Donna) Steapleton, and Leigh (Kevin) Hunt; grandchildren, Grayson Hunt, Emily Teems, and Abby Millican; great grandsons, Jagger, River, and Knox; and brothers, Edmond Steapleton, and Roger Steapleton.

Pallbearers are Dewayne Steapleton, Josh Steapleton, Kevin Hunt, Grayson Hunt, Jeff Spurlock, and Aaron Battles.

Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Battles, his cousins, Tom Hayes, Curtiston kids. and the Etowah High School Class of 1970.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the First Responders, Riverview - ER Staff, Brookwood Medical Center - SICU Staff and Doctors.
