Marshene Nelson

Rezetta Marshene Pratt Nelson age 62 of Gadsden passed away March 10, 2024. Funeral Service will be held at 1pm Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Rev. Marvin Richardson officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11 until 1pm. Burial at Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery.

Mom was a homemaker. She set out to make sure her husband and all her kids and grandkids were taken care of. She loved family. She loved her kids, especially her grandkids. She always looked forward to her days with her precious Alaia. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren as well. She loved everyone even if she hadn’t seen them in a while. She talked about the love for her family all the time.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sylvia Pratt; grandparents, Paul Bonner, Lloyd and Kate Pratt, and Ione Coker; mother in law, Linda Nelson; brother, Vincent Pratt; sisters, Danielle Pratt and Vannieca Barnes.

She is survived by her husband, Herschel Nelson; her children, Austin (Amanda) Long, Derrick Long, and Amber (Kevin) Kilgore; her grandchildren, Alaia Kilgore, Allie Otinger, Corey (Riley) Otinger, Kayla (Lavonta) Stamps, Mackenzie Long, Zayne Long, and Finley Long; great grandchildren, Ava and Nova Stamps; brother, Lloyd (Amy) Pratt; sisters, Melanie (Dewayne) Tullis, Georgina Sparks, Fran (Shawn) Hicks and her father, James C Pratt.

Pallbearers will be Eric Nelson, Alec Alverson, Vincent Epperson, Caleb Epperson, Caegan Epperson, Landon Pratt, Corey Otinger and Vincent Pratt Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Kilgore and Dawson Kilgore.
