Martha Ann Christian

Mrs. Christian passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Riverview Regional Medical Center. The second oldest of 11 kids, her life was not glamorous. She was raised to nurture and help and she did that all her life. Mom lived her life always trying to help others and those less fortunate. Her compassion for people and for giving is the legacy she leaves behind. If it was your birthday, she would make you an Italian cream cake or pound cake or her homemade lasagna. Sometimes both if you were really lucky. If you needed a place to stay her door was always open and she welcomed you into her home. Mom loved flowers and gardening and all things pretty. She loved to decorate and could see the beauty in the most mundane. Her children and grandchildren are her greatest accomplishments and her treasures. Putting them first in every aspect of her life. Her life can be summed up in a quote she kept on her wall. “The difference between a flower and a weed is a judgment.” And she saw the flower in everyone. Hebrew 13:2 “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers. For by doing so some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.” Mrs. Christian was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt that will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Kim Denson (Tony) and Mandy Battles (Brian), her son, Chris Christian (Maryellen), her mother, Luvern Morgan and her grandsons, Adam Pritchard (Lacy) and Barrett Battles.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wilford Morgan, her sister, Joan Morgan and her son, Bobby Christian, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. until service time at 12:00 P.M. at Morgan Funeral Chapel.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the doctors and nursing staff at the Kirkland Clinic UAB at Acton Road and Dr. Olajide Akinsanya and staff for their caring and kindness.
