Mary Hazel Treece

Mary worked many years as a pre-k teacher at Ashville First Baptist. She was a lifelong member at Ashville First Baptist and worked in the church nursery for over 25 years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was married 70 years to her wonderful husband. She served in many roles in the community and church. As an Ashville First Baptist Church Committee member she made many important decisions about the new church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robbie Sullivan Bowlin and Earl Bowlin; brother, Glen Bowlin and one angel great grandchild.

Mary is survived by her son, Howard (Cathy) Treece; daughter, Barbara (Neal) Elders; daughter, Elizabeth Hunt; granddaughters, Alicia Walker, Angela Gonnering, Courtney Ryder, Kayla Strickland, Lauren Peek; grandsons, Christopher Elders, Ryan Hunt; and 7 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ashville First Baptist building fund.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Elders, Ryan Hunt, Cade Peek, Jonathan Gonnering, J.P. Lipscomb, Tony Sparks, Lamar Battles, Tommy Coker, Gerald Coker, Larry McCullough, Bobby Smith.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 1 until 2p.m. at Ashville First Baptist Church.
