We are believers that Dad and his son are celebrating their new pain free life.
Michael Hugh Lee was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a tireless provider, mentor, and friend whose love and strength had no bounds. He was a devoted husband to Barbara, his best friend and the love of his life. He was a caring and involved father, and a compassionate grandfather. He was always there for those who needed him with his encouraging words. Above all, he was a faithful servant to his great God and was bold standing for his truth.
He was known as Pawpaw and Pop. His grandchildren stole his heart from the moment they were born. He was their biggest cheerleader, coach, and critic whether on the football field, the diamond or the green. The greatest treasure of his life was found in his grandchildren.
Michael had an adventurous personality. From earning his pilots license, rebuilding cars, building houses, drag racing, countless hours boating on the river, and his love for his corvettes. Although, his greatest treasure was spending time with his family. He was a graduate of Alexandria High School in 1964. He served six years in the United States Army Reserves. He retired from the Anniston Army Depot.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara Lee; daughter Keisha Thompson (Kevin); daughter in law, Tracy Lee; grandsons Hayden Lee (Tori); Cody Thompson; granddaughters Karlee Thompson and Kayla Lee; great grandson, Mason Thompson; Brother Garvis Lee (Carol); brother in laws Lester Boling (Becky); Eddie Boling (Venetia); Darrell Boling (Brenda); sister in law, Betty Ann LuAllen and numerous nieces and nephews.
There to meet him in Heaven is his son, Grant Lee; father, Hoyt Lee; mother, Lettie Lee; brother, Leon Lee; sister, Carol Godwin; father in law Clyde Boling ; mother in law, Betty Cruise; nephew, Dale Godwin and two nieces, Kendra Boling and Kristal Lee.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Thompson, Hayden Lee, Eddie Boling, Kevin Lee, Kent Lee and Jason Knight.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
Special thanks to Leigh Ann Shirley and the CCU nurses at Riverview Hospital.
The best blessing for our family is that he loved the Lord and we know he is rejoicing in Heaven. The devotion and love he showed to his family is the most lasting and memorable legacy.
