Nancy Lee Moore

Nancy was born in Pratt City AL on 5/30/38. She lived in Forestdale for 11 years. She was married to her husband, (Robert Allen Moore Sr.), on 4/20/1957. She was active in the Forestdale Presbyterian church. She moved to a farm in Walnut Grove AL in 1972 with her husband Bob and their 3 children. She spent many years being a farmer’s wife and raising her family. She loved to work in the yard and do crafts. She was very active in Walnut Grove Methodist Church and had many roles there, including leading the music, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and keeping the nursery for many years. Her memory began to decline in her late 70’s and she moved in with her daughter in Birmingham after the death of her son Bobby. She died after an Alzheimer’s diagnosis at Altoona Health and Rehab where she was given the best care! The nurses and staff were all kind, friendly, patient and giving. She spent a peaceful last few months there.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Earl Holmes and Nancy Lee Wiggins Holmes, brothers Alan Holmes, and Dale Holmes. Her husband Robert Allen Moore Sr, died in 1999. They had 3 children. Those included Vicki Moore MD who has two sons, Nathan Cruse Sparks and Cameron Robert Sparks, and live in Birmingham, AL; Robert Allen Moore Jr, who died in 2018, who has two children, Brandi Moore Mauro (Chris Mauro) and Michael Allen Moore; Stephen Scott Moore, who has two daughters, Stephanie Moore Gaylor (David) and Melanie Moore Bush (Derek Bush).

She also had numerous great grandchildren including Reagan Elizabeth Gaylor, Caleb Michael Bush, Mekhia Georgia Moore, Meliyah Elise Moore, Mariah Jaileigh Dillapree, Miyal Jadore Dillapree, Jayceon Mason Dillapree, Meyonni Yanelle Dillapree, Tristan Alexander Mauro, Samuel Robert Mauro, and Theodore “Teddy” James Mauro.

Pallbearers will be David Gaylor, Derek Bush, Michael Moore, Chris Mauro, Nathan Sparks and Neal Tolbert.
