Patricia Ann Chumley

Funeral will be at 3:00pm Sunday at Bellevue Baptist Church for Patricia Ann Stanford Chumley, 72, of Gadsden who died September 7, 2017. Rev. Roger Graham will be officiating. Burial will be in Duck Springs Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory will be directing the service.

Mrs. Chumley was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ethel Stanford; brother Harold Stanford; sister, Virginia Stanford Hill and infant daughter, Angela Beth Chumley.

Mrs. Chumley graduated from Etowah High School in 1963. She worked at Alabama City Bank and Coosa Valley Bank as a loan officer before joining Home Interiors and Gifts Inc., where she worked for over 30 years eventually becoming a branch sales manager. She was an active member of Bellevue Baptist Church where taught Sunday School and worked with children’s ministry. She and her husband served as foster parents for 10 years and were strong supporters of the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home.

Mrs. Chumley loved to travel and spend time with her family and church family. She had a big personality and was a great encourager to others in their walk in Christ. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gerald F. Chumley; daughters, Kristi Chumley (Stuart) Mitchell, Amanda Chumley (Ted) Buckenham; grandchildren, Leah Mitchell (Clint) McElmoyl, Clay Mitchell, Tyler Buckenham, Sarah Buckenham.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home.

Pallbearers will be Stuart Mitchell, Clay Mitchell, Clint McElmoyl, Ted Buckenham, Harold Sherrell, Russell Machen.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Adult 3 Sunday School Class of Bellevue Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 5 pm -8pm Sat. Sep. 9, 2017 at Morgan Funeral Chapel.

The body will lie state at the church from 1:00pm-3:00pm Sunday.
