

Hugh was preceded in death by his wife, Tina Kirby, his parents, Chester and Mildred Kirby and his brother, Ray Kirby.
Hugh leaves behind his children, Connie (Charlie) Edmondson, Karen Kirby and Jason (Cheniel) Kirby, his step-sons, Greg (Saprina) Oliver and Scott (Kim) Oliver, his grandchildren, Chris (Lindsey) Edmondson, Ryan (Shane) Lancaster, Kirby Dial, Bella Edmondson, Carter Corbin and Levi Kirby, step-grandchildren, Lindy (Dustin) Gunter, Madalyn, Hannah, Sidney, Nate and Hallie Oliver, his great-grandchildren, Ryder, Saige and Amos, his little fishing buddies. Special thanks to Hugh’s brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Patsy Kirby for being a tremendous help during his illness.
Shortly after graduating from Walnut Grove High school, Hugh joined the Navy where he served for eight years. After the Navy, Hugh worked for UPS and then Kirby Brothers Garage with his brother, Ray. Hugh eventually went to work for ECBOE as a school bus mechanic and remained there until his retirement.
Hugh’s hobbies included dirt track racing #52, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Hugh will have a graveside service at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Altoona, AL. with Pastor Morrell Upchurch officiating.
