

Scarlett D. McClendon 70 of Southside passed away December 6, 2020. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Matt Smith officiating. Burial will be at Williams Southside cemetery.
Scarlett was a 1968 graduate of Gadsden High School. She was Co-Owner of M & M Building Supply, Southside Sales, T & M Investments and other local businesses. Scarlett was the book keeper for M & M Auto, McClendon Auction House and McClendon Properties. Her favorite title was Mom and Mawmaw. Her children and grandchildren were her world. She loved God and worshipped at Southside United Methodist Church.
Scarlett was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Renfro “ Larry” McClendon; father, W.T. “Bud” Phillips; mother, Mattie Geraldine “Dink” Phillips, brothers, Donnie Joe Phillips and Terry Phillips; and brother in law, Jimmie “Mo” Williams.
She is survived by her children, Toni (Dennis) Bishop, DeWayne (Melissa) McClendon, Tiffany McClendon; her grandchildren, Clay Bishop, DaVon McClendon, Tyler (Chasity) McCord, Ashton (Grant) Griffin; great grandson, Brooks Griffin; sister, Cindy Williams, brothers, Ronnie (Judy) Phillips, Bruce (Patsy) Phillips, Brent Phillips and Steve Phillips; several special nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins; along with special life long friends, Trinna Rutledge, Sandy Cox, Sherry Springfield, Gloria Guest, Kit Asher, and Tana Porter.
Pallbearers will be Tyler McCord, Grant Griffin, Clay Bishop, DaVon McClendon, D.J. Wondercheck, and Ethan Martin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Bryant, Arnold Asher, Jack Rutledge, Gene Cox, and Larry Guest.
Special thanks to family and friends that checked on us and prayed for us during this difficult time.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 until 8p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
