Shelby Jean Bradley was born in Geraldine on November 14, 1940. Her family moved to Attalla when she was two. She graduated from Etowah High School in 1959, then she married her high school sweetheart, Roy “Dink” Bradley on July 18, 1959. They were married for 60 years. Shelby was a member of Siberton Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife and mother, and she loved her family. She loved to play games with her children and grandchildren, travel, dress up, read, garden, fish, hike, and she was always ready for an adventure. We love her very much and will miss her fun spirit and laughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Bradley; parents, James Eddie Holdbrook and Una Lorene Holdbrook; stepmother, Ola Holdbrook; sister, Sue Hyatt (d. Berlin Hyatt); and brother, James Eddie Holdbrook, Jr. (Laverne Holdbrook).
Shelby is survived by her daughter, Kelly Lenard (d. Jeff Lenard); son, Todd Bradley (Tara Bradley); grandchildren, Patton Lenard (Sarah Lenard), Kelsey Lenard, Faith Lenard, Hayden Bradley, and Heston Bradley; sisters, Mary Ann Riley (d. Bobby Riley), Linda Story (d. Kyle Story), Carolyn Battles (d. Noel Battles), Sara Battles (d. James Battles), and Judy Holdbrook (d. Nell Vinyard); along with several nieces and nephews.
Her grandsons, Patton Lenard, Hayden Bradley, and Heston Bradley, and her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to thank Dr. Debora Reiland, nurses at Gadsden Health and Rehab, Enhabit Hospice, and many visits, cards, and gifts from her sisters Mary Ann, Linda, and Sara.
