William Coy Free

Funeral Services for Mr. William Coy Free, age 87 of Steele, will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Bro. Donnie Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Steele Cemetery.

Coy passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 at UAB Medical Center. He retired from Morgan Electric Supply, Co. with 43 years of service. He was born on November 26, 1934 and was a long time member of Steele Methodist Church. Coy was a graduate of Ashville High school in 1953.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rubye Free, children, Rodney Free (Brenda), Beverly Spears (Joey), Randall Free (Lisa), grandchildren, Amy Free, David Free (Mackenzie), Jesse Free (Shanna), Brandon Brown (Tanika) and Taylor Brown (Amber), 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.F. Free and Essie Owen Free, sisters, Melva Jean Free and Louise Conley.

Active Pallbearers will be: David Free, Brandon Brown, Taylor Brown, Jesse Free, Zack Fry and Jacob Shull.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M.

Morgan Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
