

Alyce was born May 19, 1938, in Galt, California where she was delivered into this world by her Grandmother Katherine Mastel nee Meidinger, at the family home of Fred (Pauline) Mastel. Shortly after, the family purchased a dairy farm and moved to Lodi, CA where she spent most of her younger years growing up with her four siblings: Fred, Leroy, Carolyn, and Rodney. She attended Lafayette and Live Oak School during her early years. She was active in Girl Scouts, 4-H club, Lockeford Grange, and the Venture Club. Alyce attended and graduated from Lodi High School in 1957.
Alyce married Earl Caldwell in 1959, at Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lodi. She was such an excellent seamstress that she made her own wedding dress.
She is survived by her three children, Robin, (Gary) Pruitt, Diana, and Teresa; her seven grandchildren, Laura Pruitt, Thomas, (Katie) Wooten, Adam Lamont, Larry, (Roxanne) Wooten, Sarah, (Jake) Evans, Danielle, (Addison) Warren, and Caleigh McClenahan; her four great grandchildren, Grace Haney, Lilly Wooten, Grayson, and Gabriel Carroll.
Alyce enjoyed sewing for her grandchildren, taking them to the library, making beautiful quilts, crafting of all kinds and traveling with her senior group while living in Texas at Rainbows End and Escapees RV Park.
Alyce lived in an assisted senior facility in Auburn, CA at the time of her passing on November 4, 2023, at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Earl Caldwell, parents Fred, (Pauline) Mastel, two siblings Leroy and Rodney Mastel.
Alyce was a considerate, kind, and gentle person who always put others before herself. She will truly be missed by all who loved her and forever in our hearts.
Services to be announced at a later date and held in her hometown of Lodi, CA.
