As I remember, one of Uncle Don's hobbies was photography. He had a dark room in the garage of their Foothill Farms home. As a child, I wasn't exactly sure what went on in a "dark room". It was a curious, mysterious one room, tall, but not too wide place where my uncle stepped into and disappeared. After many years, the dark room was moved onto my parents property in Citrus Heights. There it stood as big as life atop the hill in the far backyard. My Dad stored his lawn mower and tools in it. It was a bit of an eyesore, but there it stood tall and proud. I bet Uncle Don and my Dad are giggling about it now!

Uncle Don was a great guy! I always enjoyed his wry sense of humor and many stories. He and Aunt Marilee would frequently use their hard earned vacation time to bring the kids and visit family in Missouri which we always looked forward to. We had many good conversations over the years, I will miss him.

I'll miss you dad. Here's a picture of my dad on his ATV, giving Brandon a ride. I can imagine he just told Brandon a joke, and Brandon's looking at me saying "Is that true?". Ha Ha.

Homemade ice cream, especially on our 4th of July family get together's. Uncle Don grilling on the back deck and Aunt Marilee "supervising" his grilling abilities. LOL! Uncle Don with his sly grin chuckle when he was tickled about something.

Uncle Don as well as Aunt Marilee possessed the gift of true kindness, and showing unconditional love to all around them. I remember coming over for holidays and also sleepovers. Getting lost in the woods or what was their backyard, feeding deer our leftover scraps, washing sap off of our hands with lava soap and definitely homemade ice cream. Loved uncle Dons stories and will always cherish and remember my last visit with him. Thank you for the laughs and memories. Sincerest and deepest condolences to Steve, Diane and family. I remember growing up and going to Aunt Marilee’s and Uncle Don’s for family picnics in their backyard and homemade ice cream.  It was a great time of family and laughter ♥️

My favorite memory of Uncle Don was when he would show up to our house in his patrol car. I was always so proud of him for being a Highway Patrolman.  He pulled my Mom over one day when she was on her way to work just to tease her.  I remember that story well.  You will be sadly missed Uncle Don. Rest In Peace. I love you ♥️♥️♥️

Uncle Don was a character. We never knew for sure how to take his jokes! He was solid as a rock in everything he took on in his life. That's how I remember him the most. You could always count on him through thick and thin. He was a great story teller and had many stories to tell! I have so many cherished memories of him through the years spending family time with him, Aunt Marilee, Steve, and Diane. He will be greatly missed, but thought about always.
