She practiced her profession as a Registered Nurse for several years, having graduated from Hamlin University School of Nursing in Minneapolis before settling in as a wonderful full time home maker and caring parent. She and her husband met in Whitehall, Wisconsin, and married there on January 21, 1952. The family lived in many domestic and foreign locations, and she was always proud to have been a part of the oil exploration community. They retired to Cool in 1990.
Her family was her pride and joy as she watched with love as it grew. She enjoyed traveling - foreign and in the states - with Minnesota lakes, Rocky Mountains, desert southwest and the Pacific Ocean being favorites.
Donna had a strong faith, which as much as anything may best describe her. She was an active member in the many Lutheran congregations where the family lived. Bible study and service were her talents. Her perpetual smile, sense of humor, and open heart made friends with all.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Thomas Larson, by their children Diane Brauer (Bradley), David Larson (Stacey), Kathleen Salter (Daniel), grandchildren Erinn Brauer, Meghan Martinson (Kevin), John and Benjamin Salter, Erik, Brent, Brock Larson and great-grandchild Mackenzie Martinson and brothers Duane and Robert French.
Donna died after several months of fast decline with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) with her spirit and faith remaining strong. Services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, August 25, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1239 High Street, Auburn CA. Burial will be August, 29, 2014, in Lincoln Cemetery at Whitehall, WI.
Memorials can be sent in Donna Larson’s name to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Auburn, CA.
