There is rejoicing and praise in Heaven today. Another child of God has come home. On September 16, 2011, Grace Delight Graham ran into the arms of her Abba Father, even as he ran to embrace her. As Grace stands in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, her family and friends fervently wait to join her before the throne of the Most High. Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!
Grace was born in Los Angeles in 1918 to Herbert and Myrtle Langdon. She was the oldest child with four younger brothers. She graduated from Fremont High School and married her high school sweetheart, Dwight Koonce. She raised three sons with a life that was committed to serving her Lord and her family. She participated in missionary visitation through World Vision to China and Japan. In 1969 she and Dwight relocated to Chico, California.
After the passing of her husband, she met and married Elbert (Bill) Graham. Their life together included extensive travels throughout the United States in Bill’s 5th wheel RV. They made numerous friends as they moved from campground to campground and participated in various work projects. (Some of these friends corresponded with Grace right up to the end.) After Bill’s death in 1989, Grace lived in Paradise, California and continued to serve her Lord leading Bible studies and a Salt & Life group through the Christian Missionary Alliance Church.
She moved to Auburn, California in 1999 and attended Cornerstone Community Church. Grace lived at the Oaks of Auburn where she made many friends and facilitated a woman’s Bible study.
Grace is survived by her brother, Gwynn Langdon; her three sons, John Mason, Wayne Koonce and Dale Koonce; two step sons, Denis Graham and Terry Graham; four grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Cornerstone Community Church in Auburn on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Grace’s name to Cornerstone Community Church Worship Fund.
Arrangements under the direction of Chapel of the Hills, Auburn, CA.
