

He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Laura Mae Moore (Atmore, Al) and Hazel Janice Johnson (Atmore, Al). Jesse is survived by his wife of 69 years Arvella Hazel and his two sons, Bruce (Suzanne) Ross of Fort Worth, Tx and David (Christine) Ross of Rocklin, Ca. He has 5 grandchildren: Jeremy (JR) Ross, Shannon Ford, Scott Ross, Zachary Ross, Kailyn Ross and 7 great grandchildren.
Jesse was born to William David and Anna Lou Sims Ross and grew up on the family farm in Atmore, Alabama. At 19, he joined the United States Air Force. He was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars. After 27 years of active duty, he retired as a Senior Master Sergeant going onto to work 17 years in the Civil Service.
Jesse was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in a variety of positions throughout his life.
He was passionate about hunting, fishing, truck trading and never failed to enjoy exchanging stories of dubious authenticity and southern euphemisms with friends and strangers.
His burial will be a private graveside service on Monday, August 26 at the Saramento Valley National Cemetery. Jesse request was to be buried beside his fellow military brethren. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Disabled American Veterans in Jesse’s name.
