

Mary Teeters Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and loyal friend passed away in Dutch Flat California on July 13th, 2024 after a hard and courageous fight with stage 4 Breast Cancer. Mary was diagnosed with breast cancer five years ago, and she faced the illness with bravery and strength. Throughout her treatment, she remained positive and focused on the things that brought her joy - her family, her hobbies, and her faith. Her courage was an inspiration to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones reminiscing of fond memories and stories.
She was born in Hanging Dog, North Carolina on April 2nd, 1939 to Jared and Louise Hass and grew up in a large close knit farm family that consisted of 11 siblings. Mary’s education started in Cottage Grove Oregon, where she attended grade school and high school.
Mary spent her life raising her 3 children (Dennis Teeters, Donita Dunbar, and Darryl Teeters), and enjoying her grand-children and great grand children. She loved being a grandma and great grandma
more than anything.
While Mary’s passion was sewing and baking, she also enjoyed water skiing, biking, and traveling with friends. She had a warm and welcoming personality and was loved by all who knew her. Mary’s contagious laughter would lighten up any moment, and she had a way of making everyone feel loved and special in their own way. She will be remembered for her kind hearted giving nature, and her spirited sense of humour.
Mary is survived by her 3 children (Dennis Teeters, Donita Dunbar, and Darryl Teeters), her 3 grandchildren (Dustin Dunbar, Kiera Dunbar, and Colton Cox,) her 6 great grandchildren, her sister-in law (Jean Hass) and lifelong friend (Gail Barney). She was predeceased by her loving parents, her 11 siblings, and her granddaughter (Vanessa Teeters).
Mary was a god-fearing Christian and attended Sierra First Baptist church in Alta California. Mary enjoyed volunteering her time making quilts for fundraisers, baking for church functions and giving back to the community in any way she could. Mary will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, and generous person who made a difference in the lives of so many. Her legacy of love and service will live on through her family and friends.
Celebration of life will be held at first Sierra Baptist Church in Alta, California on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 10 AM.
