

Mia lost her short battle with cancer at her home in Auburn, California on Wednesday, February 29, 2012. The endurance riders over the world have lost a beloved member and friend. Mia composed a great strength and compassion to her many friends and family.
Mia was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and worked for many years as a restaurant manager for the McDonald’s Corporation. She was an accomplished horsewoman and an avid endurance rider of many years. Her favorite ride was the Western States 100 One Day Ride. Mia was a strong supporter and member of the American Endurance Ride Conference. She loved visiting San Francisco and going to the 49ers football games, and spending time in Squaw Valley with her family and friends. Her greatest pleasure in life were her many animals from Pot Belly pigs, cats, dogs and her much loved horses.
She is preceded in death by her mother Marcia Dardi, grandfather Virgil Dardi, and grandmother Angela Dardi. She is survived by her father J.C. “Bud” Dardi of Sebastopol, stepmother Geri Dardi, loving sisters Gina Dardi of Novato and Marisa Dardi of Auburn, and her many friends.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 6pm at Chapel of the Hills, 1331 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA. A rosary will be held following the viewing at 7pm at Chapel of the Hills. A celebration of Mia’s life will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1162 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA with a burial to follow at New Auburn Cemetery, 1040 Collins Drive, Auburn, CA. A reception will take place following the funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bristol Hospice of Rocklin or to the Western States Trail Foundation in Auburn.
