Michael Edward Nickens

Mike was a gentle soul who loved music, fishing and camping. He loved and adored his niece Alyissa Garbe. Mike started work at the age of 15 at Old Town Pizza in Auburn, then went on to work in concrete construction for 10 years, and briefly at Placer County Water Agency. He was a hard worker.

Mike was preceded in death by his Grandparents: Buzz & Maxine Nickens and Edward D. Ferreira.

Mike is survived by his Father Craig Nickens of Auburn, CA; Mother Helene Ferreira of Auburn, CA; Grandmother Jo Ann Ferreira of Newcastle, CA; brother Kendall Garbe; niece Alyissa Garbe; Uncles and Aunts: Kathy & Richard Booth of Auburn, CA; Dana & Lynn Nickens of Valley Center, CA; Dan Ferreira of De Moines, WA; Carol Ferreira Duncan of Weimar, CA; Laurie & James Riolo of Roseville, CA; Bob Ferreira of Newcastle, CA; Dee Duncan of Bowman, CA; and Tami Ferreira of Garden Valley, CA; Cousins: Josh & Kiley Booth of No Plains; Jamie & Justin Banks of SLC, UT; Danica & Quincy Nickens of Valley Center, CA; Ellie & Jordan Turner of Seattle, WA; Danny Ferreira of Manteca, CA; Tanya Ferreira of Australia; Bobby Ferreira of Auburn, CA; and Tracy Duncan Ballard & son Ashton.
