Ted, a resident of Applegate for 22 years, died on Sunday, September 4th, with his wife, Stella, by his side.
He liked to tell the story of his parents, Elsa Lauber and Werner Bohren's trip to America. Ted was conceived in Switzerland and unknowingly went on that trip by boat, processed through Ellis Island, and eventually was born in Illinois. He and his family stayed and settled in the United States.
He was proud of his service in the U.S Air Force where he flew F-86 jets during the Korean war. During some of his military time, he had four children with his first wife, Yvonne. Deni, born in Walter Reed Army Hospital, then Ted, Wendy born in Okinawa, Japan, and Randy. With his present wife, Stella, he was step-father to Cindy, Bill and Terry, his newly acquired children.
He enjoyed the company of his coffee buddies at Oliver's in Clipper Gap, his favorite place to go in the mornings.
He's gone now and he will be missed by us all. Bye, Teddie.
