It is with heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce the death of Tony Duarte Santos, of Newcastle, California, who passed away on June 13, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Tony Duarte Santos was born on the Island of Faial Azores. On November 1,1930. He passed

away June 13,2021.

Tony grew up working on the family farm. He married Maria Evelina Caldeira in 1954 in their

home island of Faial. In 1958 Tony and Maria moved to Newcastle, California where Tony

worked in the local lumber mills for the next 30 years. After retiring he spent a lot of time

gardening with his brother Manuel and sitting on the front porch playing dominoes with his late

wife Maria.

Tony is survived by his son Nelson Santos, daughter-in-law Julie Santos, granddaughter Evelina

Santos and grandson Cooper Santos. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Maria

Evelina Santos.

The Rosary will be held at Chapel of the Hills 1331 Lincoln Way, Auburn Ca at 6:00 pm Monday

June 21st. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday June 22, 2021 at Newcastle
