William Edwin Clark “Bill” was born in Santa Monica, CA in March of 1938, and moved with his parents to south Seattle, WA on the coast, in a town called Fauntleroy. Bill would spend the next 12 years of his life in Fauntleroy and would later move with his family to Lynwood, CA. Bill joined the Navy after graduating from Lynwood High School, where he spent the next four years working on a tugboat and earned the nickname “Boats”.
Bill is survived by his wife Eleanor (Gerber) Clark. They spent 35 years together living in northern California, where he was a Chef Engineer at Sierra Nevada Hospital. He would later retire from this position and spend his days hiking and fishing either by himself or with family or friends. Bill and Ellie built their dream home in Applegate, CA, where they would sit on the patio and watch the sunrise or sunset over the Sierras. He loved their home.
Bill had one sister Patricia Danene Clark-Siler (Edd Siler) and four children, Tracey Lee Clark (Amber), Debbra Linn Cuellar (MSgt Richard Chuck Cuellar), Kirstin McCoy (Major Michael McCoy), and Katie Albers. He had five grandchildren, Billie Danene Coren (David Coren), Donovan Mason Cuellar, Wyatt Aaron McCoy, Quintin John McCoy, and Grady Malachi McCoy as well as one great-grandchild Mason Deavitt Coren arriving in April.
Bill loved nature and being outdoors wandering, but never getting lost. As he hiked, he would often break out in loud song making up the lyrics as he hiked. He loved the solitude of the desert where he would sit quietly and ponder life. Bill loved to travel going to places like Greece, Paris, Rome, and Normandy Beach. Some of his favorite times were spent fishing in Canada with his Canadian family. With his wishes, he will be put to rest by Death Valley desert among the wildflowers watching the sunsets, with his beloved dog Jackson.
