Born July 6th, 1955, in Pontiac, Michigan, Craig graduated from Avondale High School with the class of ‘73. He built a successful career in print production while later in life he found fulfillment contributing his many talents to Oxford Community schools; Independence Village of Oxford (Waterstone), and various friends, families, and friends
throughout the years.
Married 48 years; Craig shared 53 wonderful years with his beloved high school sweetheart, Peta, and together they created a fairytale life full of love, laughter, and adventure. Craig was a Michigan Outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and especially cooking. He found joy in sharing meals at his home on the lake and making memories with friends and family at his cabin in the woods. He loved to connect with people through nature and nurture.
Craig was loved for his generosity and warm heart. Craig loved deeply; was devoted to his family, and a stampede of pets who number too many to name. He treasured time spent out on a quiet lake fishing; riding ATVs through the trails, cooking up a meal large
enough for an army, and sitting around a fire with loved ones, talking, sipping a Miller Lite, looking out at the stars just appreciating the wind on his face and the people by his side. He wasn’t afraid to tell you he loved you.
Craig is survived by his wife Peta Birrell; his son Jonathan Birrell; grandchildren Divina and Dante; sister-in-law Deborah Kelly and Fawn (Scott) Gallagher; brother-in-law Marc Newham, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his
brother, Norman Birrell, Mother Helen, and Father Norman.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Craig’s life.
