

Growing up Gerald attended Troy High School before pursuing higher education at Oakland Community College and then completing his degree at Lawrence Tech. While he held several jobs in his life his goal was always to work for General Motors; a goal that he was able to achieve, and was a proud engineer for them for many years. Called to serve his county, Gerald joined the United States Air Force. While serving, he married his beloved wife Mavadene "Dene" Joslyn on March 9, 1963. Gerald had several hobbies; when he wanted some exercise he enjoyed tennis and golfing. He also enjoyed playing on a Airplane Simulator, allowing him experience the joys of flying again. However, the hobby he was most proud of was his model reconstruction of the HMS Victory 100 Gun Ship. He began 30 years ago with only the blueprints of the ship and got to work painstakingly recreating the vessel; having the wood specially cut to ensure as much accuracy as possible. It was a project of love and a legacy anyone would be proud of.
Gerald will be missed dearly by his wife Mavadene "Dene" Joslyn; sister Sherry Brocklebank - Auburn Hills, Michigan; brother Lawrence "Lonnie" Joslyn -Elizabethton, Tennessee; niece Kim; and nephew Kyle.
Gerald was preceded in death by his brother Bobby Joslyn and nephew Kevin.
