Minnie Mae Hobgood

HOBGOOD, Minnie Mae, of Pontiac, was taken home by her Lord May 13, 2013; born March 11, 1924 in Puxico, MO; wife of the late Paul for 32 years; loving mother of Hershel (Patricia) of Yale, Dona Bragg of Pontiac, Carolyn (Gary) Davis of Pontiac, Roger (Barbara) of Rochester Hills, Connie Simoni of Pontiac, Phyllis Lambert of Pontiac and James (Sheron) of Colombia, TN; sister of Norma Avery, Mildred Boatwright, Alma Hargis and Ruth Wilson; also 26 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren. Minnie was a special lady to many and influenced the lives of everyone she knew. She devoted her life and time to her family and friends and never turned away anyone who was in need. She was a member of United Faith Baptist Church for over 40 years; during that time she fulfilled numerous duties there. Though her health declined her spirit never grew weak. God has now taken her to her reward where she will have eternal peace and happiness. “She ran her race and fought a good fight.” She left us to be with her Heavenly Father and those who are waiting for her there. Funeral service Friday 11:00 a.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, 3530 Auburn Rd., Auburn Hills; visitation Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
