Sara brightened the lives of every person she met. Her uncompromising compassion and boundless love inspired those around her. Sara transformed a 10 year battle against cancer into a testament of human kindness. She could find humor even in the hardest times.
Sara sought to enhance the lives of all people regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, race, or physical capabilities.
Sara was an active member of the LGBTQ+ community in Ann Arbor. While attending the University of Michigan’s Gender and Health Bachelor’s program, Sara participated in several charitable organizations including queer inclusive sexual education and support.
In her free time, Sara wrote. She received several literary accolades for her poetry including a prestigious Hopwood award.
Sara also had a passion for music. She loved all forms of musical expression from BritPop to Broadway, Argentine Tango to Belgian Dance Music. She played violin in the University of Michigan Campus Philharmonia Orchestra and dabbled with piano, guitar, and ukulele.
It would be inaccurate to say the world is darker now that Sara is gone because nothing can diminish the light she shone. The people in Sara's life will forever carry the love she shared.
