David Boyd

David A. Boyd, 63, passed away April 16 at his home in Federal Way, WA. Dave was born in Oakdale, LA to Arthur L. and Louise Boyd (Ostergren). While growing up Dave lived a number of places due to his father'sAir Force career, but spent many years in Sherman, TX. After high school, Dave went to work as a pressman at the Sherman Democrat newspaper. He met and married Linda Wilson in Sherman. Dave worked in the printing industry in North Texas for a number of years as he and Linda raised their family of two boys. In the early 1970's Dave and his family moved to the northwest to be near his parents where a third son was born. Dave continued to work in the printing industry here in the Northwest. He loved outdoor activities with his family such as fishing, boating, and camping and was an enthusiastic supporter of his boys' athletic teams in Kirkland, WA. In 2002, Dave undertook the difficult job of providing full time care for his parents after his father suffered a stroke. After his father's death in May 2004, Dave continued to provide care for his mother Louise. Dave is survived by his three sons Art (Sarah and granddaughter Emma), Steve, and Scott, his former wife Linda Hamm, by his mother Louise, his sister Carol Felton (Bill), and his two brothers Mike (Marcia) and Jim (Diane). His warm and generous nature and his wonderful and inventive sense of humor will be dearly missed by all. Services will be at Price Helton Funeral Home in Auburn.
