

He was born to the late Hilario and Maria Mina, July 30, 1929 in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. He was the youngest of five children.
Macario worked as a personal chauffeur for high ranking political figures in the Philippines. At the age of 19, he learned of family and migrated to Lamitan City, Basilan, Mindinao. There he met Dorotea and they married in 1950. Together they raised five sons and a daughter. In 1970 they migrated to the United States and Macario worked on his brother’s farm in Puyallup, WA. In the 1980’s he began farming his own land in Wapato, WA and retired from farming in 2005.
Macario is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorotea; and six children: Jorge and wife, Pat; Joe and wife, Gigi; Ernie and wife Mila; Edgar and wife, Amy; Bobby; and daughter Marilyn and husband, Tim. He also has ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
