An unbelievable and preventable tragedy. Dennis was definitely the life of the party and loved his boys so much. Betty, Landon and Tyler, you are all in my thoughts and prayers and may God bring you peace and comfort as you all navigate this uncertain time.

My memories of you are mostly when we were younger. All of us cousin's would go hang at the mud hole or down in the cemetery on our mound. Even through all the woods, just adventuring. You always were so Welcoming and funny. Very cool guy to hang around. You will be missed bunches. R.I.P Cuzzo. XOXO

I dont have many memories with Dennis from growing up but the one memory I do have was seeing him pull up in his big rig. Since Dennis' passing, I've started to look at my own life differently. He's given me the inspiration and courage to start a trucking career of my own. He will forever be missed and loved by the ones who knew him. Say hi to the rest of the family for us. 

Where do I start,
Cousin Dennis had many nicknames all by friend's and family he also had a larger then life personality him my dad and my awsome Uncle Dale grew up together building race cars and racing at Auburndale Speedway my childhood memories Dennis and Uncle Dale And My Dad were always working on projects wether they were at our house or Uncle Dales they were always laughing and cutting up around the cars or houses. Dennis was blessed with two amazing kids Landon And Tyler. He was a great and amazing cousin he was there when I needed help with life situations. I would ask him for advice he would give it. I had always thought highly of my family and too this day I still do. Cousin Dennis used to have a jacked up Blue Toyota With a pair of nuts swinging on his hitch. My cousin was the greatest no matter what I lost touch with him after my father passed and my Aunt Betty invited me over to her house to pick a gift up from my birthday that she had got me. When I seen Dennis there i had smiled and he asked me how I was doing and what was I doing for work and we chatted. So many memories I can imagine how Landon And Tyler and even the closer ones feel. I'm Glad I got too see you one last time before all of this happened man. I Love You Cousin Dennis keep a eye on my father.

You will be truly missed. You are loved by so many and the way to touched the lives of others will never be forgotten. You always had a smile on your face and had so much love to give.  Prayers and love to the family. 

My thoughts and prayers to entire family who I grew up with and consider my family. I remember Dennis as a young little blond rambunctious boy. You can see then he was just an awesome person. He grew up into a fine young man, always there to help with whatever was needed and wanted nothing in return. Awesome sense of humor and always had a quick wit. Hero's and Friends with a Baconator after leaving the Mudhole, this is our memory.  This is only one though, how many times did we bet on who was calling in on Friday to get a long weekend, or take turns making each other's neighbors mad?  My neighbor really did not like that racecar stunt LOL.  It was always good times and lots of laughs and you were my best friend.  I am truly going to miss you.  Prayers to all family and friends as we help each other thru this unexpected loss

Dennis AKA Swamp as I knew him was a person I have known my whole life because he was pretty much there from the time I was born. He was always the life of the party and I loved going out to the mud hole with him and with his blue Toyota we just went everywhere, and when we weren't at the mud hole he would come over and sit around the fire in the back yard and just joke about everything. He was always the one that could make a bad day good again because when you were around him he always made you smile. I'm going to miss you swamp love you

Well Swamp I do not know how to tell you good bye.  We had 20+ years of mudholes, four wheelers, camping and stopping by to just have 1.  Every hello was met with a smile and a teddy bear hug.  I can't just share A memory with you as I cannot fill it all into 1 paragraph, your friendship was a big part of my life and I can sit for hours and talk about so many things that make me laugh, because that is what you did, you filled our hearts and our spirits with laughter.  You have left a lot of broken hearts behind, but we have a lot of memories to help us get thru each and everyday.  I was so looking forward to another 20 years with you, I am very sad I will not have that.  My prayers are with all of your family and friends and especially with your mom and your sons as I know they will fill this pain the most,  Love you and will miss you greatly.

There was never a dull moment with Dennis around. He always managed to put a smile on everyones face.  I can't remember a time that he wasn't around making jokes.  In the days of NEXTEL phones he would always manage to catch me in the middle of the grocery store or in the public restroom  and holler something out over the 2 way like WHOOP WHOOP or blast music.  Use to embarass the heck outta me. My children have grown up with Dennis they thought of him as their uncle. They always called him fruity !!  Because I had a picture of Dennis wearing a plastic grocery bag with plastic fruit sticking out the top like the chiquita banana lady !! That was after a spiked watermelon (of course). Gonna miss you Dennis  no words can describe the hole in our hearts your passing a has left. I hope your family finds peace and your up there making mud angels  in the sky ..... Love Ya Man 

A big heart and a gentle soul. Dennis, it was a pleasure to know you.  still a teenager you begged and begged me to take you on the road with me and teach you to drive truck.  I gotta say you learned fast and we had some great times. Im glad you were able to make a cereer out of it and enjoy it. I already miss not hearing you on the radio when i pass through. You beat us all to the promise land.  May god comfort the hearts of your family and friends. The sadness is too real.  Ive always heard the good die young. Well brother, you were the best!

Some people called him Dennis, some called him Swamp but to me, he was always Wampster. He was apart of some of the best, and craziest, times of my life. Wampster had a way of getting people, like Buckshot, to do stuff just so we could all get a laugh. No matter if we were laughing or standing around the hood of his truck at 3 in the morning talking about life, we always had a good time and even learned a little about life. Swamp always found a way to give my husband and I advice about life, especially when it was lessons he learned the hard way. Over the years he became more than a coworker of my husband, he became one of our best friends and a brother. Our circle of friends has always been close. There is never a dull moment but now it will always be incomplete without our Wampster. 

We’re continuing to pray for peace and comfort through this difficult time. 

Sending prayers for comfort over the family Dennis was one in a million he was a true friend that would tell you like it is no matter how you felt and I respected that I loved him like a brother and he will be greatly missed till we meet again 

You are all in my thoughts and prayers... Dennis you will be greatly missed.

Dennis is survived by his parents: Betty Lou and Ronald Wilkes of Lakeland, FL. and George and Alice DeVoid of Southbury, CT. sons: Landon Wilkes and Tyler Wilkes, sister: Daria Cody and husband Dale, as well as his nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
