Donald has spent the last 33 years with his wife Estella Phelps. He loved to watch movies and spend time with his bride. They enjoyed photography, shooting their guns and spending time with family. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He would waste no time getting on their level and roll around with them. He cared deeply for his family. He was a great provider and protector of his family. Donald was a hard working man. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand. There was nothing Donald couldn’t fix. He was great working with hands. We lost a good man, husband, father, brother and grandpa and friend. We can rest in full confidence that Donald is now healed and in the presence of our precious Lord.
Donald is survived by his wife, Estella Phelps; children, Joe Marin and his family, Tina Madson and her family, Amanda Rodgers and her family; siblings, Judy Compton of New Brockton, Alabama, and Danny Earl Phelps of Sebring, Florida; as well as 13 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bennie Frank Phelps and Essie Mae Hattaway, and siblings, Margarett Barnes, Jimmy Frank Phelps, and Billy Ray Phelps.
