Mr. Jerry W. Johnson, 66, died of heart failure, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Lakeland, FL; on Thursday Nov. 11, 2010. He was born in North Carolina and moved to Lakeland in 1969. He was an entrepreneur and owned Johnson Equipment Service and Repair in Lakeland. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion Post in Lakeland. Jerry enjoyed golf and especially liked spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Flora, sons Jeff and his wife Sherry of Sanford, FL; Curtis and Wendy of Lakeland, daughter Lori Johnson Carter and her husband Barry, of Barnesville, GA; brothers Bill, Ron, Jim and Terry, sisters Sue Cooley, Doris Bowers, Felecia Macy and Ann Campbell. Also survived by his grandchildren, Megan, Jay, Zachary, Jacob and Justin. A graveside service will be held at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens, Auburndale, FL; on Monday at 11:00 AM.
