Evelyn Kathleen Hughes

Kathy was born to Robert Bunch and Nora Ann Apple in Augusta, GA. She attended High School at Richmond Academy and received her high school diploma in Germany. She traveled to many places due to her family being in the military. Kathy was an artistic person who loved capturing photographed memories of her family and friends. She loved collecting items such as dolls and stuffed animals.

Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Robert Bunch; and grandparents, Roy and Evelyn Burrum. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Bernard Hughes; children, Nora Johnson (Jeremiah), Felicia Bass (Jeremy), Bernie Hughes (Shana) and Bobby Hughes (Kendall); mother, Nora Ann Apple; brother, Roy Brown (Christine); grandchildren, Chandler Johnson, Katherine Johnson, Anna Moxley Johnson, Sophia Bass, Sailor Bass, Griner Bass, Titus Bass and Jayden Hughes; and nieces and nephews, Katlyn Brown, Michael Brown, Dylan Brown and Christian Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Mr. Jeremiah Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
