George Verenes

Martinez- Mr. George Verenes, 91, beloved husband to Mrs. Juanita F. Verenes entered into rest on Saturday, April 30, 2016.

Funeral services will be held on May 5, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with Father Vasile Bitere officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Cemetery in Aiken, S.C. with military honors being observed. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at the Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Rd.

Mr. Verenes was an Army WWII Veteran. He retired as the Chief Human Resources officer for the V.A. Medical Center in Dublin, Ga. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Also he was member of the AHEPA Greek Organization, the NARFE Organization, and a lifelong member of the D.A.V.

Mr. Verenes loved traveling, camping, gardening, all kinds of music, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his loving wife, Mrs. Juanita F. Verenes, his son, Constantine G. Verenes (Karen), his daughter, Denise Coutsouridis (John), granddaughter, Alexia Coutsouridis, sister-in-law, Demetra Gray, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be, John Coutsouridis, Michael Hart, John McMichael, Cortez Proctor, Chris Verenes, Deno Verenes.

Honory Pallbearers will be great nieces and great nephews.
