

Born on March 29, 1940, in Heidelberg, Germany, Hannelore’s life journey led her to meet the love of her life while he was stationed overseas. Their meeting began a beautiful partnership that spanned 58 years of marriage. She later made her home in Hephzibah, Georgia, where she lived a life rooted in family, faith, and quiet joy.
Hannelore was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Lewis Hoskins, and her parents, Adolf and Emma Roessle and her stepfather Herman Sacher.
She leaves cherished memories with her children, David (Doris) Hoskins and Maureen (Chuck) Garney. She is also survived by her cousins, Gerhard Hifinger, Doris Quitt, Brigitte Bischoff, and Kalle Bischoff, along with her nieces and nephews: Kara Puryear (Marvin), Danny Hoskins, Lauri Simpson (Jimmy), Steve Hoskins (Michele), and Mark Hoskins (Melissa).
Hannelore found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved working jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, and spending quiet moments with seek-and-find and word puzzles—activities that reflected her patience, focus, and gentle spirit.
The funeral service for Hannelore will be officiated by Pastor Rick Nevard and Pastor Eric Hendrickson. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m.
The family will be accepting flowers, or you may honor Hannelore's memory with a donation to Barton Chapel Methodist Church 3414 Deans Bridge Road Augusta, GA 30906.
