

Mr. Sipp was born in East Prairie, Missouri to the late John and Leona Sipp. He moved to Augusta, GA in 1963 and made Augusta his home ever since. He served in the United States Army as a Combact Medic, and also served two tours in Vietnam. While serving in the military, he earned the National Defense Service Medal (1st CLC), Vietnam Service Medal with 7 Bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Medical Badge, Bronze Star Medal (1st OLC), Tech Service Honor Medal 2d Class, Army Commendation Medal, Soldier’s Medal, Good Conduct Medal (6th) and also a Purple Heart. Mr. Sipp also was part of the Medical Honor Guard for Dwight D. Eisenhower. Mr. Sipp was a devout man of God and was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church. He loved and honored the Lord, and before any family would take trips, when he got in the car with the family, he prayed, and before they returned home, he prayed. Mr. Sipp was also a 33rd Degree Mason. He was a devoted husband; loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather; and warm and kind friend to many. In his spare time he was also an avid golfer.
Mr. Sipp is preceded in death by his daughter, Susan S. Lewis; and grandson, David Allen Sipp. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Ingrid G. Sipp; daughter, Barbara S. Thrift; son, John W. Sipp III; grandchildren, Dawn Angelique Lewis, Krystal Amber Lewis, Carlton Wayne Sipp and Zane Alexander Sipp; and great-grandchildren, Angelique Susan Lewis and Emily Mae Hagerty Lewis.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 2005 Windsor Spring Road, Augusta GA 30906 with Pastor Rick Nevard officiating.
