June Elizabeth Ivey

She was born on June 1, 1942, in Hephzibah, a daughter of the late Gordon B. and Catherine Smith Kersey.

June was a 1960 graduate of Hephzibah High School. She was baptized and a member of Augusta’s Cornerstone Assembly. She worked at Winn-Dixie for 18 years before going into the floor covering industry; she was a shipping/receiving manager for 18 years at Ja-Be distributors. She finally retired after another 10+ years with Fishman Flooring Solutions.

She is predeceased by her parents; brother, Larry kersey and two “Angel Baby” grandchildren.

June is survived by her daughters, Donna Rae Lively (Scott) and Sheree Lyn Johnson; step-daughter, Donna Lynn Ivey; step-son, Larry E. Ivey, Jr.; sisters, Barbara James (Charles) of Lyons, Ga and Elaine Merritt of Evans, GA; 14 grandchildren, Brandi Martin (Dylan), Becky Tankersley (Matt), Christopher Myers ( Krystle), Cody Myers ( Heather), Quickie (Kayla), Crystal, Dakota, AJ (Ken), Lele Lively, Larry III, Britni Ivey, Hallye Ivey, Katelyn Ivey, and Dean Corley. June also has great grandchildren: Madyson, Alyssa, Mason, JJ, Rylan, Adriana, Emelio, Giselle and an angel baby along with 11 others as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

June enjoyed many years of camping, boating, skiing, bowling, dancing, playing poker, and she loved to make others laugh with her witty jokes. She loved spending Saturdays shopping with her sister who was also her weekly hairdresser. She loved "Days of Our Lives," bird watching, and her dogs Bo, Luke, and Tori.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, Monday, March 14, at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta.

There will also be a memorial service at 7pm on Wednesday, March 16, at Augusta's Cornerstone Assembly, 4301 Windsor Spring Rd, Hephzibah.
