

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Welch Worsham Faglier, 90, of Augusta, GA, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Flint River Memory Care after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 2pm at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road Chapel with Rev. Toby Rowell and Rev. Wally Hoyle officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Born on December 9. 1921, in Morgan County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Henry Thomas Welch, Sr. and Marguerite Carter Welch. Following the families move to Putnam County, GA, she attended Putnam County High School. She was secretary to the high school principal, then worked for several years in the county conservation department. Following her marriage to Roy H. Worsham of Milledgeville, GA, they moved to Augusta where he was stationed in the Army and she continued living until her death. She retired from C&S Bank after 34 years of service as an Executive Assistant. Several years following Roy's death, she married L. R. Faglier. She was a faithful member of Morningside Baptist Church, where she participated in the Sybil Hall Sunday School Class and the Omega Group. She loved to travel. Some of her notable trips were to Kenya and Egypt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy H. Worsham, L.R. Faglier, a sister, and 3 brothers. She is survived by her sisters, Mrs. Frankie W. Jenkins, Milledgeville, GA and Mrs. Marguerite W. Truitt, Forsyth, GA, stepsons, Richard Faglier, Paul Faglier, Mike Faglier and their families, many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 20, 2012 from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Morningside Baptist Church, 1825 Kissingbower Rd., Augusta, GA, 30904.
