

Our beloved Mattie Louise Ring, 87, of Augusta, Georgia, loving mother, and devoted military wife went to her final resting home as she was called to be with the Lord on December 27, 2024. Mattie entered Heaven surrounded by the love of her family and children. God’s garden must be beautiful as he always takes the best.
Mattie Ring was affectionately known as “MamMaw” by many who loved her. She was born August 17, 1937 in Batesburg, S.C. to the late Carl Henry Berry, Sr. and the late Mattie Corley Berry. She attended Hollywood High School. Mattie took special joy in life while raising her children and worked at Morgans dry cleaners for many years while caring for her dear family.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Paul W. Ring, Sr., her cherished sister, Geneva Black, nephew Brad Black, and her precious great-grandson Grayson Mejias. She is survived by her children, Stephen Ring (Grace), Cynthia Shealy (Stevie), Michael Ring (Brooke), Melanie Ring, Paul Ring, Jr. (Tina); grandchildren, Kira Mejias, Chris Martin (Ileah), Lindsey Shealy Turner (Ian), Daniel Ring, Zoye Ring, Katelynn Ring, Lorren-Ashleigh Ring, Sabrynn Ring, Autumn Ring; great-grandchildren, Austin Mejias (Rachael), Jacob Mejias (Jordan) and Carson Mejias; step-grandchildren, Brandon Perrin (Nichole), Rebecca Livingston, Ted Livingston, Megan Yetzer (Tyler), Kaden Parker; two great-great-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren. Mattie is also survived by her sisters, Salley Hughes, Elaine Black, Nancy Duncan, Sylvia Asbill and her brothers Carl Henry Berry, Jr. and George Berry as well as many more loving relatives and friends.
Mattie was a loving and supportive person with warmth and generosity to all that knew her. She was a friend to many, and a cherished member of the community. Mattie was an avid reader, a wonderful cook and was immensely proud of her family. She took great pride in being a parent and was proud to see the accomplishments of her children. Mattie left behind a legacy of kindness and strength. She will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her loving family and friends. We know she resides in the place Jesus has prepared for us. She is rejoicing in our Savior’s presence. She remains forever in our hearts, and always will be remembered with love. A beloved soul who touched so many lives.

A visitation for Mattie will be held Friday, January 3, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by funeral service will occur at 12:00 PM, at Elliott Sons Funeral Home 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Rd, Augusta, Georgia 30906.
