
AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Patti-Ann Yablon, of Richmond County, Georgia passed away after a long battle with cancer on Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Patti-Ann was born in Jacksonville, Florida on May 7, 1933 but has resided in Augusta most of her life. She was very close to her two younger sisters, Shirley and Elli. She attended Haughton Elementary School and Tubman High School, where she was the Star of the Basketball Team. Patti also attended the University of Tampa for a short time. Patti married Irving Yablon August 3, 1952 and celebrated 44 years of marriage together. Following his death in 1996, her life was brightened by her friend and companion, John Ring. Together they enjoyed many years of going to the Opera and Theater together. Patti and Irving were self-employed in the grocery business, Irving Supermarket, for most of their adult lives. When they weren't working, they spent time enjoying their houseboat. In later years following the closing of the store, they created Pabco Distributors, a restaurant supplier for glassware, flatware, etc. This business endeavor created numerous long lasting friendships. Patti's greatest joy was dancing. Her dream of dancing with Fred Astaire led her to open her own dance studio. She was very active in Adas Yeshuran Synagogue and excelled as president of the Sisterhood. Patti is survived by her three children, Sheree (Barry) Feldman, Susan Catha and Brian Yablon; three grandchildren, Sarah, Tracy and Kevin Feldman; two sisters, Shirley (Norman) Mendelson and Ellyne (Charles) Zimmerman; sister-in-law, Helen (Dave) Fuchs; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside funeral servi ces will be held 10 AM, Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Magnolia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society , 2607Commons Blvd, Augusta, Georgia 30909 or Adas Yeshuran Synagogue, 935 Johns Rd, Augusta, GA, 30904.
