Robert W. Bailey

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 10:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park with full military honors.

Bob was born in Manganese Village, Minnesota on December 8, 1938, and married his wife Anna Maria on August 8, 1959. He retired from the Army after more than 20 years of service. Bob and Anna Maria enjoyed entertaining, especially with their Italian family and friends. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing bass tournaments at Clarks Hill Lake with his buddies. He also enjoyed deer hunting at Ft. Gordon. In his later years, Bob enjoyed visiting and playing cards with his three granddaughters. He loved talking to them twice a day to hear about their busy sports schedules. Bob was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and a member of the American Legion Post.

He was preceded in death by wife, Anna Maria Pinton Bailey, parents, Orin Edward Bailey, and Grace Evelyn Bailey, sisters, Patricia Goldstein, Alice Rish, and brother, Dan Bailey. He is survived by his daughter, Julie Sijgers and her husband Fred, Richland, WA, Brothers, Jim Bailey, Mayville, MI, Mike Bailey, Pontiac MI, sisters, Mary Martin, Jacksonville, FL, Beverly Lumsden, Lady Lake, FL, Jane Suhail, Waterford, MI, granddaughters, Allison Sijgers, Teresa Sijgers, Sarah Sijgers, Richland, WA.
