

Robin Sue Powell Silverstein, 76, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2012 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Decatur, GA after a long illness. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her former husband Bernie Silverstein of Augusta, GA, her daughter Lynn Silverstein Jackson and son-in-law Larry Jackson of Destin, FL, her son Louis Silverstein of Augusta, GA, her daughter Mary Silverstein of Decatur, GA, and her grandsons Bernie and Sam Silverstein of Augusta, GA. She was preceded in death by her father Saul Powell and her mother Mildred Glasser Powell Farber. Throughout her life, Robin was devoted to her family and was a proud and loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend. She was born in Atlanta, GA, went to the University of Georgia, and lived most of her life with her family and friends in Augusta, GA. Robin sang in the choir at Walton Way Temple and was the first President of the Ladies Golf Association at West Lake Golf Club. Robin moved to Longboat Key, FL where she enjoyed a very active lifestyle for 10 years prior to moving back to Augusta and then spending the last 2 years in Decatur, GA. Robin enjoyed golf, tennis, walking, travel, movies, music, theater, cards, reading, cooking, dancing, and dinner clubs. She was a life member of Adas Yeshuran Synagogue, and was a member of the Sisterhood and Hadassah. Funeral arrangements will be handled by Elliot Sons Funeral Home, 1134 Telfair St and will be held at Westover Memorial Park, 2601 Wheeler Rd, Augusta, GA at 12:00 pm October 23, 2012 with Rabbi David Sirull officiating. Friends may visit the family at Rabbi and Mrs. David Sirull’s residence at 815 Quail Ct Augusta, GA from 7-9 pm October 23 and 24. Memorial contributions in honor of Robin may be made and sent to Adas Yeshuran Synagogue, 935 Johns Rd, Augusta, GA 30904.
