She was a devoted member of Lake Park Baptist Church for many years and lived her life grounded in a deep and abiding love for Jesus Christ. Ruth was a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, and a devoted sister.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Ida Akeson. She is survived by her beloved son, Jonathan Gibson, and his wife Stacey; her precious grandchildren, Ryan Gibson and Caitlyn Gibson; and her dear brothers: John and his wife Trinita, Philip and his wife Trinka, and Reuben and his wife Debbie.
Ruth’s life was a testament to faith, love, and family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, GA, the service will be officiated by Pastor Bob Gosey. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
