

Mr. Morgan was born to the late David and Mary Leona Morgan in Hephzibah, GA. He graduated from Hephzibah High School and later served in the United States Army for 4 years. Mr. Morgan worked for Augusta Newsprint and retired after 46 years of hard work and dedication to the company. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding looking at farm land and enjoying time with his family. He especially loved riding with his brother, Wayne Morgan. Mr. Morgan was talented in gardening, especially growing tomatoes. He and his wife, Lee, enjoyed watching Westerns, Gunsmoke and Moonshiners on television.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Morgan is preceded in death by his sisters, Dot Kinsey, Judy Dennis; and brothers, Edward Morgan, Donald Morgan and Wayne Morgan. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lee Ellen Morgan of Hephzibah, GA; children, Tonya Wilson and son-in-law Howard of Stapleton, GA, Tracey Attaway and son-in-law Lee of Hephzibah, GA and Russ Morgan; siblings, Marjorie Doss and husband Ronald of Augusta, GA, Ann Mincey of Blairsville, GA and Janice Weatherford of Augusta, GA; grandchildren, Tripp Rooks and wife, Heather; Dillon Attaway and Jacob Attaway and his granddaughter and his “Princess” Shelby Attaway; and also his little best friend and four-legged companion, Tickle.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home on Lumpkin Road with Pastor Ronald Doss officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers who will honor Mr. Morgan will be John Perry, Trey Perry, Corey Collins, Dillon Attaway, Jacob Attaway and Mitch Kirkendohl.
