Beverly Ann (Moggio) Zborowski was born on July 20, 1940, in Hazel Park, Michigan. After graduating high school and taking a job as a secretary, she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Zborowski, at a Big Boy drive-in. They married on June 25, 1960. Their first child, Lynne, was born in the fall of the following year, followed by two sons, Robert Jr. and Greg.
Bev’s family was the most important thing in her life. She and Bob enjoyed taking long walks in the woods and hunting for antiques at fairs and in small-town shops. She loved going out for breakfast with her husband, and any excuse to go out for coffee with her daughter and daughter-in-law was welcome. Her grandsons in Colorado remember her as “the best grandma” who would play floor hockey in the basement with them and cheer them on at all of their football and hockey games. They also treasure the little things she did, like cutting crusts off sandwiches or stopping at Crumbl Cookies on the way back to her house every Tuesday. Her son, Greg, remembers her as a caring, nurturing person who always put others ahead of herself and credits her with instilling in him some of his best qualities. Her daughter recalls her generosity as well and remembers her being quick to lend a hand or an ear, as only a mother could for a daughter. Friends remember the joking arguments they would have because of her insistence on paying for lunch or dinner whenever they went out.
Bev was never one to shy away from hard work, whether it was canning and freezing produce from her garden or taking on retail jobs to help with her children’s college expenses. She had a quick smile and loved to flirt with anyone from salesclerks to waiters to any male nurse who happened to be caring for her, often to her children’s chagrin.
Bev lived a rich, fulfilling life, surrounded by people she loved and who loved her.
