Carolyn Inga Werner, 81, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away peacefully on September 24,2024. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, On March 6,1943. She grew up surrounded by the beauty of Colorado, developing a profound love for animals, especially dogs and horses.

Carolyns life was enriched by her deep love for family and friends. She Cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was enjoying a good movie, engaging in light-hearted gossip, or sharing delicious meals. Every other Friday was a special occasion for Carolyn, as she looked forward to spending quality time with her sister Cassie, and niece Chris, running errands and enjoying each other’s company.

In her personal life, Carolyn was married to Reginald Jack Thornburg, and together they raised two children, Charon and Reggie, along with their cherished German Shorthaired Pointers. As an IMC Tech for Larimer County Human Services for 15 years, Carolyn’s Commitment to her clients knew no bounds. She fought tooth and nail to ensure that those facing difficult circumstances had access to the resources and support they so desperately needed. Carolyn was a tireless advocate, navigating the complex web of social services to connect her clients with programs and opportunities that could truly transform their lives.

She Enjoyed spending time at her sisters-in-law’s ranches, Karen Condict and Sharen Schafer, where she embraced the joys of horseback riding, branding, and occasionally opting for a good book while others hunted.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn Schield Warner, her father, John Werner, her brother, Johnny Werner, and her son, Reggie Thornburg Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Charon (Alan) Timm, grandsons, Colton (Sherri) Boxberger, Weston (Audrey) Boxberger, granddaughters, Shelby and Kelsey Boxberger, Aspen and Cloey Boxberger, her sister, Cassie Neumann, niece Chris (David) Gunderson, great nephew, Petter (Izzy) France (Riggs& Scarlett), great niece Michelle (Jeff) Brown (Aryonna), nephews, Jay (Lindsey) Neumann, Jack and Vincent Werner, Billy (Z) Werner, Jeff (Martha) Neumann (Sarah & Tyler), sisters-in-law, Cathy Werner, Sharen Schafer and Karen Condict, nephews, Alden Condict Jr. and Michael Condict.

Carolyn is remembered fondly by her family and friends as a sweet, kind, and true friend. Her vibrant spirit and love for life will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
